Vision And Goal Setting Secrets

Legendary Jim Rohn says the most valuable lessons lie not in the destination, but the journey.

“The real value in setting goals is not in their achievement. The acquisition of the things you want is strictly secondary. The major reason for setting goals is to compel you to become the person it takes to achieve them.”

What are your goals and what kind of person do you desire to become?

Contemplating your goals, consider the journey it is going to take to get there.  Do you have enough passion about your destination that the ups and downs and bumps in the road will not deter you?

If you stumble, will you rise, brush the dust off your knees and continue on?  Or, will you turn back and go down the easy road?

It's been estimated that we each have upwards of 50,000 thoughts per day. How many of yours are negative?  How many are positive?

Do you tend to see the glass half empty or half full?

“Dissatisfaction and discouragement are not caused by the absence of things but the absence of vision.” — Anonymous

If you lack vision or if your vision is not clear, you will be dissatisfied and be easily discouraged, discouraged to the point of paralysis.  You need to paint a vision that is clear and detailed!  Speak positively about it.  See yourself accomplishing it.

When you speak affirmations and visualize your results, they may not feel true at first.  They may not even be true.  But they can become true if you see them long enough and take action.

Many of us set goals at the beginning of year…how are you doing?  Have you accomplished any of them or have you come closer to their realization?

Dreams give us the vision; goals set the actions to get us there.

What actions have you taken faithfully to get closer to your goals?

It is never too late to evaluate and make changes and start taking action.

You have heard it said, "I'll believe it when I see it."  Well, the reverse is also true: "I'll see it when I believe it!"

If you do not see the end result you are striving to accomplish, you can bet that there is a very slim chance that you will ever reach the destination you desire.  And as I said earlier, if your goals are not something that you are passionate about achieving, it will be a very long road and most likely you will end up going back to familiarity and the easy road.

What is that driving reason on WHY you do your daily routine and WHO do you want to become?

If you cannot answer those questions, you need to stop and re-evaluate what you are doing, where you are going, and whom you want to become.

There really are no secrets when it comes to vision and goal setting.  You just need to be willing to pursue goals that you are passionate about, and see yourself in your mind’s eye reaching that final destination.  Think about how it will feel once you have reached your goals

Take some time to create a vision and set some goals that will make you cry – whether you attain them or not.  If you do not they will cause you much sorrow and when you do, there will be tears of joy!
