Balancing Life – How To Maximize Your 24 Hours

Are you enjoying your life?

Do you make the most out of each day?

Do you live each moment to the maximum?

In order to have the energy and avoid the burnout, you need balance.

Achieving balance is a long road and a tedious process.  You need resolve and must be determined to reach the balanced life.

Each season of life was meant to be enjoyed.

Here are 8 ways I have learned to maximize my time and create a balanced life.

1.    Keep a list of all the important things that you need to accomplish.  Also, use a calendar and write down every commitment or appointment you make, when you make it.

2.    Don’t waste the first hour of your day.  This first hour will determine your momentum for the rest of your day and how productive you will be.

3.    Once you start something, finish it.  Do not try to multi-task every activity.  Do one thing and do it well.

4.    Don’t waste time opening every letter or every email.  At least one fourth of them can be thrown in the trash without wasting your time.

5.    Use your time wisely.  As they say, touch each piece of paper or letter only once.  If you pick it up, take care of it.  Also, use your drive time and wait time when out and about for personal development and growth.  Carry with you reading material or audio material so you will never lose a minute to inactivity.

6.    Spend 10-20 minutes Sunday evening planning your week and about 10 minutes every evening planning your next day.  The Sixth List is a great tool!

7.    Set aside personal relaxation time each day.  Again, make sure you are living in the moment, not thinking what you need to do next.  You have it on your schedule and it will be there for you to tackle after you have relaxed.  We need to restore the energy we exerted and relieve some of the stress – physically, mentally and emotionally.

8.    The harder you work, the more you need to preserve balance, especially in your exercise and leisure time.  Take a vacation or a long weekend.  Even a full day of no business activities will prove to be what you need to de-stress and be rejuvenated so you can hit the ground running.

A balanced life takes work and a lot of planning and the will power to follow the plan.  You can maximize the time you have been given by practicing these 8 easy steps.
