What Price Are You Willing To Pay To Reach Your Goals?

We set goals every day, most of them are small and don’t entail a lot of effort.  Life changing goals, on the other hand, usually cost a fortune!

“Count your cost” is good advice.  It is easy to say that we want something, but are we willing to make the right choices to get us to where we want to be?

Every choice you make is going to cost a certain price, whether it be your energy, effort, patience, resources, or time.  It is human nature to desire things and not desire to pay a fair price for them.  How many people want to lose weight or make some additional income, but are not willing to sacrifice and do what it takes to achieve those things?

In order to get what you want in life, you need to desire your goal more than you don’t desire it!

Success becomes a reality when you begin to desire your goal more than you fear the cost of reaching it.

I have heard the analogy of renting or owning your goals.  If you rent something, like a car, you don’t take as good of care of it as you would if you owned it.  If you own something you will usually sacrifice for it because you have invested in it.  If you rent something there is no commitment and you can just walk away without losing anything.

Are you a renter or an owner of your goals?

•    What have you invested?

•    What are you willing to sacrifice?

If you mentally own your goals and are serious about reaching them, you will invest all you can in them and make the needed sacrifices.  You will be willing to write the check and pay the price to achieve the specific goal.

Success does not come cheap.  How bad do you want it?

Will there be more discomfort sacrificing to get it, or sacrificing because you don't have it?

Count the cost.  After writing down your goal, list some of the things you may need to sacrifice to achieve it.  Are you willing to sacrifice those things, at least for a while, to achieve it?  Maybe not watching television in the evenings or not eating cakes and cookies is all it will take.  Maybe it will be a financial investment or involve physical exertion and some pain.  Whatever the cost, you need to decide if the cost is more painful than not achieving your goal.

Hopefully your goals are magnificent and you choose to pay the price.

Once you are passionate about a goal, make the choice to pay the price and then enjoy the reward!  See it, feel it and experience it, even before you reach it.  Once you cross the finish line, it will be all the sweeter.
