The Joy Of Random Acts Of Kindness

Many people get frustrated when the car in front of them doesn’t hit the gas fast enough when the light turns green.  We rush to the door of Caribou if we eye someone else coming so we can get in line first.

Even as I read that first paragraph negative emotions are aroused inside of me.  Did you feel the same?  Impatience?  Frustration?  Greed?

Instead, next time take a deep breath and release that impatience and frustration, and maybe consider opening the door to let the other person go in first.

Reading that paragraph was much more peaceful and pleasurable!

Giving and being of service to others is not only kind, but personally rewarding.

Acts of service, especially unexpected act of service, are a breath of fresh air in a world stagnant with selfishness.

If you want your life to be sweeter, try making someone else's life sweeter!  Remember, we reap what we sow!

Find joy in serving, giving and doing random acts of kindness!  You will be a blessing to someone else and you, in turn, will feel an enormous blessing inside as well.

Give an unexpected gift to show your appreciation for good service or just that you care.  Flowers, a gift card, an unusually large tip or even just a cup of coffee.

The main thing is to give selflessly and do not expect anything in return.  Then your joy will be full!
The energy of kindness usually is quite contagious.

Are you willing to commit to doing a random act of kindness this week?  How about today?

Here are a few suggestions:

-    Buy coffee or a meal for the person behind you
-    Open the door for someone
-    Buy socks for a homeless person
-    Donate things you no longer use to charity
-    Leave $5 in the restroom when the cleaner is in there
-    Buy someone a beautiful bouquet of flowers
-    Say thank you and leave amazing reviews
-    Tell five people that you are grateful for the today
-    Commit to texting, calling or writing one person a day and tell them how you appreciate them

Enjoy life more by doing random acts of kindness on a weekly or even a daily basis!
